Terms of use

Last updated: 14 October 2026

MaeVae is a desktop console that runs your AI coding agents side by side and keeps each one in a pane and a profile of its own. Sign in once per profile, and nothing crosses between them: not the login, not the bill, not the memory. These are the terms for using it, in plain English.

The license

MaeVae belongs to Virtual Consonance LLC, which licenses it to you. It is licensed, not sold.

From launch, every copy is activated before it runs, with a key sent to an e-mail address you give in the app.

You may

Install MaeVae and run it for your own personal or internal use.

You may not

Unless Virtual Consonance LLC agrees in writing:

  • Copy it for anyone else, redistribute it, or publish or host it for others.
  • Sell, rent, lease or sublicense it, or pass it on to anyone else in any other way.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, or try to work out its source code, except where the law gives you that right.
  • Modify, adapt or translate it, or make other works based on it.
  • Remove or change any copyright, trademark or other notice in it.
  • Share the key issued to you, or get around, switch off or tamper with its activation.

This section sums up the license in plain English. The full text is below.

MaeVae includes open-source components, each under its own license. Nothing in these terms limits the rights those licenses give you.

MaeVae Proprietary Software License

Copyright (c) 2026 Virtual Consonance LLC. All rights reserved.

This software application (“MaeVae”), including its compiled binaries and its source code, is the exclusive property of Virtual Consonance LLC (“the publisher”). You receive it through the Microsoft Store. It is licensed to you, not sold. A license key the publisher issues to you is for you alone and may not be shared.

You MAY:

  • Install and run MaeVae for your own personal or internal use.

You MAY NOT, unless the publisher agrees in writing:

  • Copy MaeVae for anyone else, redistribute it, or publish or host it for others.
  • Sell, rent, lease or sublicense it, or pass it on to anyone else in any other way.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, or attempt to derive its source code, except where the law gives you that right.
  • Modify, adapt or translate it, or make other works based on it.
  • Remove or change any copyright, trademark or other notice in it.
  • Circumvent, disable or tamper with any license check it carries.

ACTIVATION AND DATA. MaeVae must be activated before it runs. To activate it, you give an e-mail address in the app; the publisher’s activation server e-mails a license key to that address, and you enter the key in the app. The app then sends the key and an identifier for your computer to the activation server, which checks them and renews the activation from time to time. A license may be active on up to three computers, and an activated copy keeps working offline for up to seven days. Apart from activation, the app sends nothing of its own to the publisher. The privacy notice published with it describes what it stores on your computer, what the activation server receives, and the network connections the app makes or starts.

CHANGES. When a feature that sends data is added, such as an opt-in error report, the privacy notice is updated first and the app tells you before it sends anything.

THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS. MaeVae includes open-source components, each under its own license. Those licenses keep governing those components, and nothing in this license limits the rights they give you.

NO WARRANTY. THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, IN NO EVENT SHALL VIRTUAL CONSONANCE LLC BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

Early access

MaeVae is in early access. The plans and prices are on the pricing page. Early-access users hear first when selling starts.

The Early access page says what early access includes.

Your accounts with the AI vendors

MaeVae holds no agent account of its own. Each profile runs its agent under your own account with that agent’s vendor, or through the endpoint you set in its profile: a model server on your own PC or an API provider you choose. Where an agent signs in with a login, you sign in inside the pane, in the agent’s own login.

Each vendor’s terms and privacy policy apply to what its agent does and sends. When you point an agent at another provider, that provider’s terms apply too.

MaeVae earns from its plans for the app and, later, from the MaeVae compute plans. It never resells Claude, GPT or Gemini usage. Each AI vendor’s rules are respected.

What MaeVae does on your computer

  • It starts the agent command-line tools you have installed, each in its own pane, pinned to its own profile, which normally has its own isolated configuration folder. It bundles no agent.
  • It writes its own settings and the agents’ integration files.
  • When you make a profile, it writes a launcher for it, with a Windows Terminal tab where Windows Terminal is installed. That option is ticked to start with, and you can untick it.
  • It makes a backup only when you ask, to a place you choose. Account logins and API keys go into a backup only if you tick them.
  • When you close the window, MaeVae hides to the tray and the sessions keep running. Quit in the tray ends them.

The Privacy page says what the app stores, where it stores it, and what network activity it has.

Warranty and liability

MaeVae is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. Virtual Consonance LLC makes no promise, stated or implied, that it is fit for ordinary use or for a particular purpose, or that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

As far as the law allows, Virtual Consonance LLC is not liable for any claim, damage or other loss that arises from MaeVae or from its use.

When the license ends

You may stop using MaeVae at any time by uninstalling it. The license ends if you break these terms. When it ends, so does your right to run MaeVae, its paid features included. Your own files on your computer, such as your projects and your profiles, stay yours and stay where they are.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, the state where Virtual Consonance LLC is registered. Where the law of the place you live gives you a protection that an agreement cannot take away, these terms leave it in place.
