MaeVae is a desktop console that runs your AI coding agents side by side and keeps each one in a pane and a profile of its own. Sign in once per profile, and nothing crosses between them: not the login, not the bill, not the memory. Virtual Consonance LLC runs no account system for it. At launch, it runs one small server, the activation server, which the app contacts only to activate your copy. Apart from activation, the app sends nothing of its own to Virtual Consonance LLC.
What the app stores, and where
- Profiles and settings
In the
.MaeVaefolder in your Windows user folder.- Agent logins
-
You sign in inside the pane, with the agent’s own login. Each profile’s login is kept in that profile’s own isolated folder under
.MaeVae, in the place the agent’s own tool would use. A profile you pinned to the agent’s shared login folder keeps its login there instead. The account switcher is opt-in and works for Claude profiles that sign in with a login. If you use it, MaeVae keeps a copy of each saved login token so that you can switch between accounts.
- API keys
Keys you enter are kept in the Windows Credential Manager, never in a file, unless you tick API keys in a backup.
- Status files for the HUD
The HUD measures its figures from the agents’ own files on disk and from local status files. These status files stay on your computer unless you tick Include usage history in a backup. The app reads them to draw the HUD, the usage dashboard, the attention queue and quota rotation.
- Outside the
.MaeVaefolder MaeVae writes in two other places, each only when you ask. A Windows Terminal tab you ask for is written into Windows Terminal’s own
settings.json. For a profile that shares your everyday.claudefolder, switching on the HUD writes MaeVae’s status line and attention hook into that folder, which also changes your everyday Claude Code, so the HUD button asks for a second click first.- Backups
Made only when you ask, to a place you choose. A backup includes account logins and API keys only if you tick them. A backup that includes them holds them as plain files, so keep it where only you can read it.
- After you uninstall
Uninstalling MaeVae leaves the
.MaeVaefolder and your profiles’ own folders in place, because they hold your logins. Delete them by hand to remove those logins. Before you uninstall, in the guide, shows what stays.
Network activity
These are the connections the app makes or starts.
- Activation (at launch)
From launch, MaeVae is activated once before it runs. You type an e-mail address on its Activate screen; MaeVae’s activation server, run by Virtual Consonance LLC in the United States, e-mails a license key to that address, and you paste the key into the app. The server receives your e-mail address, your key and an identifier for your computer. It uses them to send you the key, to count the computers your license is active on, and to renew the activation from time to time.
- The HUD’s quota reader
For a Claude profile with the HUD switched on, MaeVae asks Anthropic’s usage endpoint for the account’s quota, at most once a minute, with that profile’s own login. The other agents’ figures are read from their own files on your computer.
- List models
In a Codex, aider or Qwen Code profile, asks the endpoint you typed which models it serves. It asks only when you click List models, or, at launch, when you paste an address into the profile’s Endpoint section. The request carries the profile’s saved key, or the key you just typed.
- Install and Update
The Install and Update buttons run the agent’s own published install or update command on your computer. At launch, in the Store release, the Grok install button shows you the command to run instead of running it.
- The agents
Each agent talks to its own vendor, under that vendor’s terms and privacy policy. Where a Codex, aider, Qwen Code or Grok profile has an Endpoint set, the agent uses that server, which can be a local model server on your own PC or an API provider you choose.
Apart from activation, the app sends nothing of its own to Virtual Consonance LLC.
No open network ports. MaeVae’s window talks to its core through local calls, not a network server.
When you write to us
When you write to support@maevae.com or security@maevae.com, your message reaches Virtual Consonance LLC’s mailbox and is kept so that we can answer you.
A message holds what you put in it. An Isolation report pasted into it shows your Windows user name and the names of your project folders; the support page says what to take out before you send it.
Telemetry, analytics, crash reports
- The app
Has no telemetry, no analytics and no crash reports of its own. Microsoft, through Windows error reporting and the Store’s publisher tools, may give Virtual Consonance LLC crash reports and install figures about MaeVae. The HUD’s local status files, which a backup includes only when you tick Include usage history, are described under What the app stores, and where.
- This website
Sets no cookie and runs no tracking script. If you pick a theme with the switch in the header, that one choice is kept in your browser’s own storage, on your computer, and is never sent anywhere. Website powered by Cloudflare.
Changes
When a feature that sends data is added, such as an opt-in error report, this page is updated first and the app tells you before it sends anything.
